I was born and raised in a small town in the north of England called Fleetwood, close to the famous seaside resort Blackpool, and I lived there until I was 19 years old. After finishing high school I decided to work in a primary school to gain some sports coaching experience. Following that year I moved to Cardiff to attend Glamorgan University where I studied Sport Studies, which combined sport science and coaching. After three wonderful years in Wales I was fortunate enough to secure a place at Edge Hill University, where I gained a Post Graduate Certificate of Education (P.G.C.E) in primary education, during this time I also worked in a boarding school, similar to Hogwarts, as a Deputy Housemaster, I was in charge of fifty 12-18 year old boys.
Once I gained this degree I took a break from studying to travel the world, I backpacked across America before heading to Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica, Peru and Brazil. This was truly one of the most amazing times of my life but after seven months of living out of a backpack it was time to return to England to embark on my teaching career. Since then I have spent the last two and a half years teaching in England before I finally decided to take a chance and move to Raleigh last summer.
In my spare time I like to walk my dog Florence, travel, hike and camp, I enjoy sports such as golf and rugby, however, my true passion is triathlon and in 2016 I was fortunate enough to be selected for the Great Britain Age Group Team to race in the European Championships. During my time in America I have thoroughly enjoyed racing out here in the USA and have had some great success. I was even invited to race at the US Nationals this summer in Ohio to gain the chance to race for the US Age Group Team.
In June I competed in the Raleigh 70.3 Ironman, in which I was successful in qualifying for the 2018 Ironman 70.3 World Championships in Port Elizabeth, South Africa on September the 2nd. If you would like to track my progress you can follow me on the live feed at: www.ironman.com My race number is 2770.

I am thoroughly excited to be teaching at Douglas for another year and I can not wait to see the work that the children will produce.
